well Israel contains some of the world's greatest archaeological treasures
이스라엘은 고대 유물의 최고의 성지라고 불리고 있습니다 and scientists often link their finds directly to the Bible now you don't have to be a scientist to make those connections as Chris Mitchell explains a new book provides an easy guide to match ancient artifacts with Scripture 과학자들은 발견된 유물을 가지고 성경과의 연관성을 찾으려 노력 중입니다. 여기 쉬운 안내를 해줄 책이 있으니 여러분들께서 직접 과학자가 되실 필요는 없겠어요 during a visit to the Holy Land Lisette Basset Brodie visited the Israel Museum. she found artifacts like this one 그녀를 따라 간 이스라엘 박물관에서 우리는 한 유물을 찾을 수 있었습니다 but when she looked for a catalogue of these biblical treasures she couldn't find one anywhere so she decided to write one herself that was eighteen years ago 지난 성경 연구 중 이러한 물건을 발견한 적 없던 그녀는 18년동안 계속 연구를 이어나갔죠 her decision and years of hard work led to each tin stone archaeological discoveries that prove the Bible 그녀의 결심과 수 년간의 노력은 성경을 증명해내는데 결국 기여하고 말았어요 this is not a book on archaeology it really is more about the Bible and then a little bit of archaeology just to show that the stories within the pages of the Bible are historical and factual 이것은 단지 책이라기보단 성경의 연장선입니다. 성경이 사실에 기반하였다는 것을 입증하는 자료가 되는 것이라 생각해요 she says even Bible believers may not know what's been discovered 그녀는 성경을 믿는 사람들조차도 이번 발견에 대해서는 몰랐다고 합니다 I don't think that a lot of Christians realize how much physical evidence there is to support the scriptures 아직도 얼마나 많은 증거들이 성경을 뒷받침하는지 대부분의 크리스천들이 알지 못해요 one famous piece so more accurately thousands of pieces of evidence are the Dead Sea Scrolls housed here at the Israel Antiquities Authority 한 가지 유명한 발견은 사해에서 발견된 고대 권위에 관한 두루마리입니다 this is the lab where experts examine those Scrolls discovered seventy years ago that revealed a treasure written two thousand years ago 이곳이 전문가들이 칠십 년간 두루마리를 연구했던 곳 입니다. 연구를 통해 이천 년의 역사가 밝혀졌죠 when something is not supported through archaeology, critics will jump on it as fast as possible and say you see there's no evidence therefore the story is not true and the Bible is wrong 어떤 이들은 유물 연구를 통해 결과가 빨리 나오지 않으면 성경이 거짓이라고 이야기합니다 what the Dead Sea Scrolls showed us is that our copy today is almost exactly identical that proved that we can trust the version that we have today because it is so close to what was there thousands of years ago 이 사해 두루마리 연구를 통해 약 삼천 년 전 자료와 지금의 자료가 동일한 것을 알아냈으며, 현재의 것 또한 믿을 수 있다는 것임을 증명했어요 in all the book provides seventy discoveries that document the historical accuracy of the scriptures. they did not happen in a vacuum and they're not made up and the way we know this is because we have physical proof and we can thank archaeology for that 이 책에서는 칠십 개의 발견을 통해 입증된 것들이 사실임을 밝혔는데 이 모든 게 바로 고고학 연구 덕분이라고 할 수 있죠 each year dozens of excavations go on like this one in biblical Shiloh Israel's first capital to archaeologists who discovered physical proof of the Bible or allot Mazar and Gabi barkay 매년 다수의 발굴이 진행되고 이스라엘의 고대 수도 등을 발견하였어요 Mazar found the seal of King Hezekiah mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures 마자르는 히브리서에 언급되었던 히스기야 왕의 봉랍도 발견했었죠 This is unparalleled and unheard of to come as close as I can imagine to a biblical figure not to mention such a king as king hezekiah 히스기야 왕의 유물을 발견하는 것은 매우 드물고 보지 못한 역사적인 발견이었습니다 so to find his seal impression it's almost touching him 왕의 물건을 발견했을 때는 매우 감동스러웠죠 barkay uncovered tiles and coins from the Second Temple period described in the New Testament 바르카이는 또한 신약에 나오는 제 2성전에서 쓰였던 타일과 동전들을 발견했습니다 in the book of Acts and in the Gospel of John there is a mentioning of the eastern porch of the Temple Mount we have the floors upon which the coins were rolling when Jesus turned upside down the temples of the money changes 우리는 사도행전에서 요한이 성전바닥에서 동전을 굴리는 내용을 찾아볼 수 있었어요 the book includes sections for easy reference to people places or things people like King David or Pontius Pilate places throughout Israel and the Middle East and things like Hezekiah tunnel or the pool of Siloam 다윗 왕, 히스기야 왕, 그리고 실로암의 못 등 다양한 것에 관한 내용이 이 책에 쉽게 설명되어 있습니다 it's almost like Israel brings the Bible to life and I think that's partly what makes Israel so special 이스라엘은 이처럼 성경을 삶 속에서 증명하고 있습니다. 이것이 이스라엘이 특별한 이유 아닐까요? you know like when it talks about David being in the wilderness and you see what the wilderness looks like there 다윗 왕의 광야에서의 이야기처럼 생생하게 that narrative makes much more sense and within each section it's alphabetized I wanted everything to be very accessible very easy to find while flipping through 이 책 또한 한 장 한 장을 넘길 때 쉽고 생생히 이해가 갈 수 있도록 만들어졌습니다 even within each artifact there's a an information box where the artifact was found who found it when did they find it and what exactly it is 누가 유물을 찾았고, 언제 어디서 어떻게 찾았는지 까지 상세히 나와있어요 that's it Brodie fields it's a great witnessing tool for both doubting Christians and skeptics 크리스천들과 의심하는 사람들에게 도움이 되는 책이죠 when we talk about the Bible it's so abstract to many people but anytime you have physical proof it's going to support what you're saying 성경을 듣고 추상적인 생각만을 하지만 우리는 형태적인 증거를 통해서도 믿음에 도움을 받을 수 있습니다 and archeology is the same way now there's physical evidence I think it makes the best with me it's witnessing to love all 그것을 뒷받침해주는 것이 바로 고고학이라고 할 수 있는 것이죠 because you can't really question something that's sitting right in front of you that you can see with your own eyes 두 눈으로 보고도 믿기지 않는다고 말하기는 힘드니까 말이에요 she also hopes the book will bring the Bible to life that was one of my goals that if they read this book or even parts of the book they're gonna walk away with something 그녀는 이 책을 누군가가 보고 삶 가운데에 얻어가는 것이 있다면 충분하다고 말합니다 having learned something about the Bible about God about Jesus 주님에 관한 하나님에 관한 성경을 배우면서 말이죠 Chris Mitchell CBN News 'the Israel Museum and Biblical Shiloh' ‘이스라엘 박물관과 성경적 실로’ CBN 뉴스, 크리스 미첼이었습니다 |
