사람이 불을 품에 품고서야

어찌 그의 옷이 타지 아니하겠으며

Can a man scoop fire into his lap without

his clothes being burned?(NIV)

하나님의 말씀은 다 순전하며

하나님은 그를 의지하는 자의 방패시니라

Every word of God is flawless;

he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.(NIV)

풀은 마르고 꽃은 시드나

우리 하나님의 말씀은

영원히 서리라 하라

The grass withers and the flowers fall,

but the word of our God stands forever.(NIV)

그러므로 믿음은 들음에서 나며

들음은 그리스도의 말씀으로

말미암았느니라

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message,

and the message is heard through the word of Christ.(NIV)

구원의 투구와 성령의 검

곧 하나님의 말씀을 가지라

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,

which is the word of God.(NIV)

이 예언의 말씀을 읽는 자와 듣는 자와

그 가운데에 기록한 것을 지키는 자는

복이 있나니 때가 가까움이라

Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy,

and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart

what is written in it, because the time is near.(NIV)

사랑하는 자들아 거류민과 나그네 같은 너희를 권하노니

영혼을 거슬러 싸우는 육체의 정욕을 제어하라

Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers

in the world, to abstain from sinful desires,

which war against your soul.(NIV)

분을 내어도 죄를 짓지 말며

해가 지도록 분을 품지 말고

마귀에게 틈을 주지 말라

In your anger do not sin":

Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

and do not give the devil a foothold.(NIV)

오직 주 예수 그리스도로 옷 입고

정욕을 위하여 육신의 일을 도모하지 말라

Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ,

and do not think about how to gratify

the desires of the sinful nature.(NIV)

나는 너희에게 이르노니

음욕을 품고 여자를 보는 자마다

마음에 이미 간음하였느니라

But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman

lustfully has already committed adultery

with her in his heart.(NIV)

하나님이여 사슴이 시냇물을 찾기에 갈급함 같이

내 영혼이 주를 찾기에 갈급하니이다

As the deer pants for streams of water,

so my soul pants for you, O God.(NIV)

원수를 갚지 말며 동포를 원망하지 말며

네 이웃 사랑하기를 네 자신과 같이 사랑하라 나는 여호와이니라

'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against

one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself.

I am the LORD.(NIV)

 긍휼히 여기는 자는 복이 있나니

그들이 긍휼히 여김을 받을 것임이요

Blessed are the merciful,

for they will be shown mercy.(NIV)

누구든지 너희가 그리스도에게

속한 자라 하여 물 한 그릇이라도 주면

내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니

그가 결코 상을 잃지 않으리라

I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water

in my name because you belong to Christ

will certainly not lose his reward.(NIV)

온 율법은 네 이웃 사랑하기를

네 자신 같이 하라 하신

한 말씀에서 이루어졌나니

The entire law is summed up in a single command:

"Love your neighbor as yourself."(NIV)

너희가 만일 성경에 기록된 대로

네 이웃 사랑하기를 네 몸과 같이 하라 하신 최고의 법을 지키면

잘하는 것이거니와

If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture,

"Love your neighbor as yourself,"

you are doing right.(NIV)

내가 그들의 불의를 긍휼히 여기고

그들의 죄를 다시 기억하지

아니하리라 하셨느니라

For I will forgive their wickedness and

will remember their sins no more.(NIV)

하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를

우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은

우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의

의가 되게 하려 하심이라

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us,

so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.(NIV)

그러면 이제 우리가 그의 피로 말미암아

의롭다 하심을 받았으니

더욱 그로 말미암아 진노하심에서 구원을 받을 것이니

Since we have now been justified by his blood,

how much more shall we be saved

from God's wrath through him!(NIV)

다시 우리를 불쌍히 여기셔서

우리의 죄악을 발로 밟으시고 우리의

모든 죄를 깊은 바다에 던지시리이다

You will again have compassion on us;

you will tread our sins underfoot and

hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.(NIV)
